Betty Lo​Betty Lo, MD, Academic Medical Director, Touro

Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics, LSU Internal Medicine / Pediatrics Residency Program Director

After earning her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine, Dr. Lo-Blais completed her internship and residency in Medicine/Pediatrics from the same institution. She also served as Chief Resident in Pediatrics for the 1996-97 academic year. She joined the faculty of LSUHSC in 1997 as Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Medicine.

During her years at LSU, Dr. Lo-Blais has won numerous teaching awards. In 1998 she became an Assistant Program Director for LSU’s Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program, and she became Program Director the following year. Dr. Lo became the Medical Director of Academic Affairs at Touro Infirmary in July 2020. In addition to her many educational and clinical activities, she volunteers at several community service clinics and activities.

Dr. Lo-Blais is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Pediatrics. She is also a member of the American Association of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the American College of Physician Executives, the Medicine/Pediatrics Program Director’s Association (MPPDA), and the Association of Program Directors for Internal Medicine (APDIM).

Callie R. Pearson​Callie R. Pearson, EMSHCM, Director – Contracts Management & Graduate Medical Education, Touro

Callie R. Pearson, EMSHCM., is the Director of Academic Affairs and Contracts at Touro Hospital in New Orleans. Callie received her undergraduate degree from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in 2008 and her Executive Master of Science with a concentration in Health Care Management from the University of New Orleans in 2010. Callie first began working in healthcare in 2006 at Touro, spent several years working at LSUHSC School of Medicine in the Department of Surgery as a Residency Coordinator and an Assistant Business Manager, and found her way back home to Touro in 2019. She currently serves as the Academic Affairs and Contracts lead for the hospital. Callie believes in being accessible to all the trainees and in fostering a nurturing clinical learning environment for their medical education.
