New Orleans, LA – Two LCMC Health representatives have been selected for CityBusiness’ 2018 class of “Women of the Year,” namely Barbara LeBlanc and Lovie Rodgers.
LeBlanc has worked at The Parenting Center at Children’s Hospital since 1988, first as assistant director. She became director in August 2005. She is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked for the State of Louisiana in the foster care system and as the director of social services at Children’s Hospital. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology and her master’s degree in social welfare from LSU. Barbara teaches classes for parents of school-age children and teens. She serves on the National Parent Education Network as Chair-elect and is part of the Guidance Team of the Louisiana Parenting Education Network.
Rodgers is the Director of Pharmacy at West Jefferson Medical Center, leading a team of nearly 50 persons in running the inpatient hospital pharmacy. Originally from Hammond, Louisiana, her doctorate in pharmacy is from Xavier University of LA College of Pharmacy (May 2007) and she holds an MPH from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (May 2013). Rodgers continues to inspire many new pharmacists in the Greater New Orleans Area through her professional and community endeavors. In addition to her involvement in community endeavors, she has played an integral role in medical missions to Mexico in recent years.
