About Dr. Trainor

Dr. Robert Steven Trainor is a New Orleans native who specializes in Neurology at both Touro and New Orleans East Hospital. He completed his medical degree at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and his Neurology Residency and Vascular Neurology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Trainor is passionate about hospital-based neurology, including management of stroke, delirium, epilepsy, and other acute neurologic disorders. He recognizes that optimized early treatment lays the groundwork for recovery, minimizes setbacks, and maximizes the quality of life. He also brings a similar approach to his outpatient practice and believes in an alliance between patient and physician to navigate obstacles and achieve individualized goals.
