That means we’re always ready for whatever emergencies come our way. We have the necessary resources, staff, medical equipment, and medicines to provide the specialized care our NOLA children need, any time of day or night.

Is the ER the right place to bring your child?

Knowing what kind of care your child needs during the critical moments following an injury or at the start of an illness can be confusing—especially when you’re consumed by worry for your little one. If your child falls off his bike and hits his head, do you go to the ER or an urgent care center? What about if they have an allergic reaction to MawMaw’s gumbo?

Making the right choice about emergency care can have a big impact on your child’s health and recovery. To learn which conditions are commonly treated in the emergency room and which are treated at urgent care centers, read our Urgent Care or ER page.
