2022 Gold Recognition - National Hospital Organ Donation Campaign

Awarded GOLD recognition for a collaborative effort with LOPA for saving and improving lives by promoting the lifesaving gift of organ, eye and tissue donation.

National recognition for its efforts to increase organ, eye, and tissue donor registrations across the state through the Workplace Partnership for Life (WPFL) Hospital Organ Donation Campaign. The WPFL is a national initiative that unites the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the organ donation community with workplaces across the nation in spreading the word about the importance of donation.

American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) recognized the Heart Center’s Cardiovascular Rehabilitation program for meeting standards and guidelines of the AACVPR program certification

The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) has recognized the Heart Center’s Cardiovascular Rehabilitation program for meeting standards and guidelines of the AACVPR program certification. Certified AACVPR programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available. The AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-reviewed accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by the AACVPR and other professional societies.

American Heart Association and American Stroke Association Get With The Guidelines® — Stroke GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll

Recognized by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association with its achievement awards. The hospital received the Get With The Guidelines^® — Stroke GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. The awards recognize a hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most evidence-based treatment guidelines to improve patient care and outcomes in the community it serves. This recognition marks the seventh consecutive year Lakeview Regional has received these awards.

American Heart Association's Silver Get With The Guidelines®–Resuscitation quality achievement award

The Get With The Guidelines–Resuscitation program was developed to help save the lives of patients who experience in-hospital cardiac arrests by consistently following the most up-to-date research-based guidelines for treatment as outlined by the American Heart Association. Guidelines include following protocols for patient safety, medical emergency team response, effective and timely resuscitation (CPR), and post-resuscitation care. Get With The Guidelines puts the expertise of the American Heart Association to work for hospitals nationwide, helping ensure the care provided to patients is aligned with the latest evidence- and research-based guidelines.

Hospital of the Year for Respiratory Care

Lakeview Hospital was presented the 2019 Hospital of the Year Award for Respiratory Care by the Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care. Lakeview Regional received the recognition among its peers of hospitals with less than 200 beds for demonstrating and meeting criteria related to enhancing and promoting the profession of respiratory care and achieving successful outcomes within its facility and community.

Accreditations and Certifications

ACR Lung Cancer Screening Registry

This facility participates in the ACR Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR), which is approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to meet Medicare quality reporting requirements. As part of the ACR National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR^®), the LCSR leads the effort in developing benchmarks and comparisons to help imaging facilities improve the quality of patient care.

Advanced Certification in Stroke (Primary Stroke Center)

The Joint Commission has developed an advanced level of certification for programs that must meet the requirements for Disease-Specific Care Certification plus additional, clinically-specific requirements and expectations. This certification improves the quality of care provided to patients, demonstrates a commitment to a higher standard of service, provides a framework for organizational structure and management, provides a competitive edge in the marketplace, enhances staff recruitment and development, and is recognized by insurers and other third parties.

Aetna Institute of Quality®

Designated an Aetna Institute of quality cardiac care facility for cardiac medical intervention, cardiac rhythm and cardiac surgery programs.

Aetna Institutes of Quality^® (IOQ) recognizes this facility for consistently delivering evidence-based, quality care for weight-loss surgery, cardiac medical intervention, cardiac rhythm, and cardiac surgery. Facilities earn IOQ status for showing a high level of quality but also for efficiency in bariatric procedures. Aetna measures many factors, like the level of care patients receive, how often patients return to the hospital after surgery, and more.

Baby-Friendly Designation

Baby-Friendly USA is the U.S. authority for implementing the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (“BFHI”), a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization and the United Nations International Emergency Children’s Fund. The initiative encourages and recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding mothers and their babies. To receive Baby-Friendly designation, hospitals must incorporate the “Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding,” which include prenatal education about optimal infant feeding, keeping mothers and babies together, breastfeeding within one hour, feeding on demand, teaching mothers how to initiate and maintain lactation and referrals to local breastfeeding support groups.

GIFT Designated Birthing Facility

This hospital is a GIFT designated birthing facility. The Gift (Guided Infant Feeding Techniques) is an evidence-based program designed to increase breastfeeding rates and hospital success by improving the quality of their maternity services and enhancing patient-centered care. It is a hospital designation program that is endorsed by the Louisiana services and enhancing patient-centered care. It is also endorsed by the Louisiana Chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Louisiana Commission on Perinatal Care and the Prevention of Infant Mortality.

It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs are assessed. The findings are reported to the ACR Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report they can use for continuous practice improvement.

MRI Accreditation
