“CHIME has chosen wisely by selecting Tanya Townsend, a proven leader and voice in health IT, to serve on its Board of Trustees;” said Greg Feirn, CEO of LCMC Health. “CHIME plays an important role in the advancement of health IT policies nationally, and I am proud that LCMC Health will have a seat at that table.”
“Our members had an outstanding slate of candidates to choose from for these positions,” said CHIME Board Chair Cletis Earle, senior vice president and CIO at Kaleida Health. “Each of our new board members has a long-standing career as a healthcare leader and champion for CHIME and for our industry. Their skills, experience and commitment will help us find new and better ways to help members in their careers and in their lives.”
When LCMC Health was formed in 2009, the system’s vision was to create efficiencies across its five hospitals and improve care for the community by standardizing systems where possible and reducing complexity. To bring this vision to life, LCMC Health has undergone a major transition entailing the consolidation of five hospitals and associated ambulatory clinics to one electronic medical record, Epic. In her capacity with LCMC Health, Tanya is charged with leading the consolidation, integration, and enhancement of information technology environments into a shared services model across the five-hospital system, strategically and effectively leading the delivery of high-quality healthcare services through technology.
LCMC Health is a Louisiana-based, non-profit healthcare system serving the needs of the people of Louisiana, the Gulf South, and beyond. The system employs over 8,400 individuals in the region and has an annual volume of over 1 million outpatient visits and 245,000 emergency department visits per year.
