About Dr. Gilbert
I was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. I received my Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS and my M.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. I completed residency in Internal Medicine and the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2019 and then a Global Health Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020. I have also completed the Gorgas Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine in Lima, Peru in 2020. I joined the Tulane University Section of General Internal Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2020 and serve as an Academic Hospitalist at University Medical Center and Tulane Medical Center.
