Alzheimer's Assisted Living

Woldenberg Village Supports Persons Living with Alzheimer’s

Resident nurse giving patient meds Seniors living with Alzheimer’s at any stage require specialized care that may not be incorporated in a standard independent or assisted living facility. At Woldenberg Village, we understand these care requirements and are dedicated to providing living arrangements tailored to the unique needs of residents living with Alzheimer’s.

Woldenberg Village offers two environments for such residents:

  • The Evergreens: Assisted living accommodations
  • The Renaissance: Skilled nursing accommodations

We are happy to discuss you or your loved one’s condition to help you determine which senior living facility would be best suited.

Assisted living

When a person has short-term memory loss, their life is made up of moments. At The Evergreens, it is our goal to create moments of joy by building a bridge from the past to the present. Our program was designed around the philosophy of reminiscence, the process of looking on or telling about past experiences that brought joy to one’s life.

As an additional service, Respite Care is offered to families to give them the opportunity to take time off from the demands of caring for their loved ones at home.

Skilled nursing

The Renaissance is a special place to call home for those with memory-impairing illnesses, including Alzheimer’s and dementia. In addition to providing a comfortable, home-like, and secured setting, our philosophy is to create a bond between residents, families, and staff.

By working together, we are able to provide a quality of life that celebrates the capabilities and uniqueness of each resident and provides security and peace of mind to their family. Our staff is highly trained in managing residents with dementia and provide a full calendar of stimulating activities to be enjoyed in our beautiful dayroom or outdoors in the enclosed gardens.

Woldenberg Village has also opened a Snoezelen® multi-sensory space designed to provide auditory and visual stimulation for persons with dementia. The innovative environment helps prevent residents from feeling isolated, bored, or frustrated by engaging them with a wide range of sounds.

The Snoezelen® room features:

  • A sensory magic projection area
  • A mirror ball
  • 'Bamboo' fiber optics
  • Virbomusic recliner
  • Vibroacoustic exercise chair
  • Spotlights
  • A stereo
  • Passive and interactive color match wall panels
  • A ceiling star projector
  • Bubble tubing

The Snoezelen® room at Woldenberg Village was made possible by the generous support of Albert & Rea Hendler.
