University Medical Center New Orleans is launching Trauma Recovery Center in partnership with the City of New Orleans to remove barriers to healing and to interrupt cycles of violence in our community. The first of its kind in Louisiana, the center will provide wraparound services for individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by traumatic injury or violent crime. We are seeking dedicated individuals to help us with this mission.

We are accepting applications for the following positions:
Trauma Recovery Center and Violence Intervention Program Manager
This position, reporting to the Director of Trauma Services, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Trauma Recovery Center and the Violence Intervention Program. This position is also responsible for the overall management of program operations, employee supervision, and accountability reports for funders. Experience working with trauma programs, survivors of violence and/or grant programs preferred.
Violence Interrupters
These positions require familiarity with and experience in communities that have been impacted by violence. Important attributes include: the ability to communicate clearly, demonstrate caring to the survivors of violence and their families, and the ability to work independently and with various members of the hospital team. We are looking for people who demonstrate reliability, creative problem-solving, and the ability to complete assigned administrative tasks.
Hospital-Based Violence Interventionalists (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Case Management Specialist)
Experience working with communities affected by violence preferred. Violence Interventionalists will work closely with the Trauma Recovery Team as well as Violence Interrupters. They will be asked to complete patient assessments, develop ongoing individualized personal recovery and risk reduction planning for survivors of violence. Excellent organizational and communication skills are required.
Trauma Recovery Center Psychologist
The Trauma Recover Center Psychologist will serve as a senior clinician and provide trauma-informed evaluation, psychotherapy, and assertive case management services to survivors of violent crime. We are seeking candidates with demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive work environment. Experience working with trauma survivors from underserved populations is required.
Trauma Recovery Center Social Worker (Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor)
The Trauma Recover Center Social Worker role is suited for candidates with a strong interest in serving culturally diverse communities of adolescent to adult survivors of trauma and violence. We are seeking applicants whose clinical work is informed by cultural humility and a commitment to anti-racist practice. Must have experience providing comprehensive case management services and evidence- based/evidence-informed trauma-focused psychotherapy. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Trauma Recovery Center Case Manager/Case Management Specialist
The Trauma Recovery Center Case Manager role is suited for candidates with a strong interest in serving culturally diverse communities of adolescent to adult survivors of trauma and violence. We are seeking applicants whose work is informed by cultural humility and a strengths-based recovery approach. Experience providing comprehensive case management services is required for this position. TRC case managers provide comprehensive assessments, assertive outreach, and comprehensive case management services. Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
Trauma Recovery Center Patient Access Representative
This position is responsible for ensuring all patients receiving services in the TRC are registered appropriately for services. The candidate will contribute to creating a friendly, welcoming and safe environment, develop relationships based on trust with patients and families utilizing a trauma-informed approach. Important attributes include: the ability to communicate clearly, demonstrate caring to the survivors of violence and their families, the ability to work in a team environment.
