Tulane Health System is excited to announce that all pediatric services will be relocating from Tulane Medical Center to Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children on Tuesday, December 16. The move will bring together all of Tulane’s women’s and children’s services at one location, making it the only truly specialized Women’s and Children’s healthcare facility in Jefferson Parish and the greater New Orleans area.

“Our pediatric move marks a new beginning for Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children,” said Dr. William Lunn, CEO of Tulane Health System. He noted that Lakeside has a long and distinguished history of offering exceptional women’s healthcare services in Jefferson Parish. “We are proud to offer a wider breadth of services for children at our convenient location in Metairie; much closer to the homes and schools of many of our patients,” said Lunn.

In addition to offering a full continuum of 24 pediatric specialties, Tulane Lakeside is equipped with:

  • 7-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
  • 26-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • 26-bed Pediatric Inpatient Unit
  • Full Service Pediatric Emergency Room
  • 6-bed Specialty Care/Oncology Unit
  • Full Service Child Life Program

The dedicated Pediatric Emergency Room will be staffed with Board Certified Pediatric ER physicians with ER wait times available at TulaneLakeside.com. The facility has recently added a child-friendly low-dose CT scanner, MRI, pediatric endoscopy, a pediatric pulmonary lab and neurodiagnostics. Tulane’s pediatric outpatient clinics will also be moving to the Lakeside campus in Metairie on December 16.
