Tulane Health System executive accepted into national development program, promoted to new leadership role

Tulane Health System administrator Cindy Bergmeier was recently accepted into the prestigious LCMC Health Executive Development Program’s Class of 2018 and promoted to associate chief operating officer of the health system.

Bergmeier was chosen for the executive development program after rigorous interviews demonstrating her leadership skills, drive to succeed and passion for healthcare and excellence in the patient care experience. LCMC Health, Tulane Health System’s parent company based in Nashville, is known for its commitment to leadership development. The organization’s executive development program includes operational and financial experience, classroom learning, close-up mentoring and networking opportunities that partner participants with successful healthcare leaders.

“As an academic medical center, part of our mission is to provide world-class education – and that includes the education and development of leaders dedicated to healthcare and its future,” said Dr. William Lunn, president and CEO of Tulane Health System. “We are proud to have Cindy selected for this program. She has proven herself to be a rising star in our organization through her hard work and dedication to improving the way we deliver care to our patients.”

As associate chief operating officer, Bergmeier will work with physicians and leaders across Tulane Health System to enhance service initiatives and lead facility improvement projects. She will also be championing Tulane Health System’s “Apollo Initiative” to enhance quality and patient outcome measures.

Bergmeier earned an MBA with a concentration in health administration from the University of Colorado at Denver. She has more than 10 years of experience in healthcare administration, most recently serving as Tulane Health System’s vice president of ambulatory services.

“I am honored to have been chosen to participate in the LCMC Health Executive Development Program,” Bergmeier said. “It is a tremendous opportunity to collaborate with healthcare leaders across the United States as we work to enhance the quality of care in our local communities.”
