Tulane Medical Center designated an Aetna Institute of Quality®

Tulane Medical Center has been designated an Aetna Institute of Quality® Cardiac Care Facility for exceptional treatment and management of heart rhythm disorders. Aetna makes information about the quality and cost of health care services available to its members to help them make informed decisions about their healthcare needs. In line with this goal, Aetna recognizes hospitals and facilities in its network that offer specialized clinical services for certain health conditions. Facilities are selected for consistently delivering evidence-based, safe care.

“Quality awards are an honor to receive. But more importantly, these awards demonstrate the commitment our facility has to providing world-class patient care,” said Dr. William Lunn, president and CEO of Tulane Health System.

In addition to the designation from Aetna, Tulane Medical Center has received the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus from the American Heart Association for three years in a row.

Lakeview Hospital in Covington, a campus of Tulane Medical Center, was also designated an Aetna Institute of Quality® Cardiac Care Facility for cardiac medical intervention, cardiac rhythm and cardiac surgery.
