About this event

  • Event type:Amazing Agers
  • Affiliations: Touro

A heart arrhythmia occurs when the electrical signals that tell the heart to beat don’t work properly. It may feel like a pounding or racing heartbeat. Arrhythmias are common in older adults due to aging heart, other illnesses, family history, and medications affecting the heart. Some arrhythmias are harmless while others, if left un-treated, may cause life-threatening symptoms such as stroke, heart failure, or cardiac arrest. It’s important to recognize the signs and symptoms of an arrhythmia so you can get the proper treatment.

Join us for our next Amazing Agers seminar:

  • Hear from Touro Electrophysiologist, Dr. Dedric Clarke on signs, symptoms, and treatment options for common arrhythmias.
  • Learn about healthy food choices from Touro’s Clinical Dietitian.
