Digestive Care

Digestive Care

Is your gut telling you something about your digestive health?

Living in South Louisiana, you’ve probably heard, many times over, the saying “we live to eat, not eat to live.” Whether it’s hitting a favorite festival, meeting up with friends for dinner, or going by ‘ya mom and dem’ for a Sunday lunch, we love our food, though there are times when it doesn’t love us back, and that can cause problems. If that happens, we are here for you.

Digestive care you can trust at West Jefferson Medical Center

Overall health starts with good digestive health, but for many people, a simple meal can result in excruciating pain or discomfort due to gastrointestinal or GI issues. Our GI tract is complex as it begins at the esophagus, ends at the rectum, and involves many organs along the way, such as the stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and intestines. If you are suffering from any digestive problem, such as acid reflux, indigestion, ongoing stomach aches, bloating, or gas, it’s time to reach out for help.

West Jefferson Medical Center offers expert care with a team of highly trained Gastroenterologists who specialize in diseases of the digestive systems, such as:

  • Acid reflux
  • Celiac disease
  • Constipation
  • Diverticulosis
  • Gallstones
  • Gastritis
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Gastrointestinal cancers, including colon cancer, rectal cancer, liver cancer and more
  • Hepatitis
  • Hernias
  • Inflammatory bowel disease, which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Liver disease
  • Pancreatitis
  • Ulcers

We are committed to patient-centered care

In some cases, a diagnostic procedure, such as an endoscopy or colonoscopy, may be needed to confirm a diagnosis. When it comes to such procedures, excellent care and convenience are our priority. West Jefferson Medical Center has its own stand-alone Endoscopy center with a dedicated parking lot for easy access. Our 10,000-square-foot facility has six procedure rooms and 15 private recovery rooms that offer a more comfortable experience for you and your family.

Digestive health affects your day every day. If your gut just doesn’t feel right, or if you have any digestive issues or concerns, schedule an appointment with one of our gastroenterologists.
