Care House
Housing for Families of Patients at your Hospital
The Care House is made available to benefit families whose loved ones are being cared for in the critical care units at West Jefferson Medical Center. It gives them a comfortable place to stay for free near the hospital while they wait for their loved ones to recover.
The Care House opened in July 2010 and was named “The Care House - The Silva Lining," in loving memory of Mr. Carlos "Chas" Silva and Mr. and Mrs. Christian "Whitey" Schulingkamp by Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Silva. To date, more than 5,000 nights of complimentary lodging in the Care House have been provided to patients' loved ones.
