West Jefferson Hospital Foundation donates state-of-the-art training mannequin for West Jefferson’s Respiratory Therapy department

The West Jefferson Hospital Foundation is proud to announce its latest investment in healthcare education with the donation of an advanced training mannequin and an arterial puncture arm for Respiratory Therapy at West Jefferson Medical Center. Affectionately named “Frank” by the respiratory therapy team, this simulation mannequin and arm will be used to further train healthcare professionals in critical procedures such as performing intubations and arterial line placements.

“Frank is already making an impact on our team,” says April Williams, Pulmonary and Sleep Care Director at West Jefferson, “These realistic training devices allow our team to practice essential procedures in a safe environment, helping to build confidence and proficiency in managing airway emergencies and performing arterial blood gas sampling. Regular practice on these mannequins not only advance our skills but also ensures the highest level of patient safety.”

Frank will be integrated into ongoing staff training and continuing education programs, helping both new and experienced therapists stay current with evolving best practices in respiratory and critical care.
