NEW ORLEANS – LCMC Health is proud to announce that several of our hospitals have been recognized by the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® program for continued success in the treatment of stroke, heart failure and the implementation of resuscitation. These awards underscore how our hospitals are implementing evidence-based treatment guidelines to provide the highest quality of care and improve patient outcomes.
"These recognitions are especially meaningful for LCMC Health, as we serve a state with some of the nation's highest rates of stroke and heart disease,” said Dr. John Heaton, Chief Medical Officer of LCMC Health. “These awards from the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines program are a testament to the dedication of our doctors, nurses and staff who are tirelessly working to improve outcomes for our patients and community.”

The Stroke quality achievement awards reflect our dedication to following nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ensuring patients receive the most effective treatment. This approach ultimately leads to more lives saved and reduced long-term disability. Moreover, the Heart failure quality achievement awards show our commitment to improving outcomes for patients with heart failure (HF), meaning reduced readmissions and more healthy days at home. Lastly, the Resuscitation quality achievement awards recognize our efforts in treating in-hospital cardiac arrest. This is critical, as timely and effective medical response is key to improving survival rates for the hundreds of thousands of people who experience cardiac arrest each year.
LCMC Health’s commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care is reflected in these recognitions across several of our hospitals. As a cohesive healthcare system, working alongside two outstanding academic partners in LSU and Tulane, LCMC Health is addressing key health issues in the communities it serves.
