Dr. Guillot has 22 years of experience in primary care practice, hospital medicine and hospital leadership, with a record of improving quality and facilitating collaboration with medical staff and hospital management at Lakeview Regional. A primary care physician in the Mandeville and Covington area since 1995, he joined Lakeview Circle Primary Care in 2008. As a founding member and medical director of the Lakeview Regional Physician Group, he was instrumental in improving hospital quality, practice development, physician satisfaction and patient satisfaction, while also helping develop outpatient clinics.

“Dr. Guillot has been influential in building the reputation and improving the services at Lakeview Regional for many years,” said Bret Kolman, Lakeview Regional CEO. “His established experience with this hospital gives him a unique perspective and inherent knowledge of its workings. I have had the pleasure of working closely with Dr. Guillot for the last five years, and I know he will continue to play a vital role in delivering compassionate patient care in an environment of dignity and respect.”

Dr. Guillot joins recently appointed chief nursing officer Jennifer Schmidt in creating a clinical leadership team that turns ideas into action and improves patient outcomes, Kolman said.

Dr. Guillot graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological chemistry. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and received the Dean’s Honor Scholarship. Following college, Dr. Guillot attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. He also completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at LSU in 1995.

That same year, he joined the medical staff at Lakeview Regional, where he served as chief of staff from 2015 to 2016. He also served as department of medicine chairman three times and as a member of the Medical Executive Committee for seven years. Over Dr. Guillot’s career, he has collaborated with administration to improve employee satisfaction and physician relations; he has advised the CEO during weekly meetings since 2008; and he assisted the quality team improving the hospital’s core measures, which are among the highest in LCMC Health, Lakeview Regional’s parent company.

Dr. Guillot was a Fellow of the American College of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He was honored for outstanding dedication to the training of medical students in 2012, and he was a volunteer clinical faculty member at LSU School of Medicine from 1998 until 2013.

Dr. Guillot has been married to Jacqueline Provosty Guillot, MD, for 27 years and is the father of five children. He loves to run and has six top 500 finishes in the Crescent City Classic 10K. He also loves math and gives an annual lecture on logarithms to the Mandeville High School calculus classes.
