Lakeview Regional announces new promotions: Critical Care Services director and manager

Lakeview Hospital , a campus of Tulane Medical Center, is happy to announce two promotions in the Critical Care Services Department. Daphne Guidry is the new director, and Katherine "Katie" West is the new manager.

Daphne has over 24 years of nursing experience specializing in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. She will provide clinical and operational oversight in her new role and lead patient care, quality, and service initiatives. Daphne joined the Lakeview team in 2000 as a nurse in the cardiac rehab unit. In 2013, she was promoted to the clinical manager role overseeing the critical care units. “Daphne has contributed significantly to the success of these departments,” said Jennifer Schmidt, Lakeview Regional CNO. “She is a valuable asset to our leadership team, and I am excited to see the new levels that she will take her team to.” In 2019, the U.S. National Guard and Reserves recognized Daphne with the Patriot Award.

Katie has been a nurse for 17 years, most of her time spent in the ICU and Cath Lab. She joined the Lakeview team as an ICU nurse in 2017 and was promoted to clinical supervisor in early 2020. "Katie has been a tremendous asset to Lakeview and the ICU in her previous roles, and I have no doubt that will only continue in her new role," said Jennifer.
