“ Lakeview Hospital patient, Joe Goodwin, consulted with Dr. Phil Gardner on an endogenous laser treatment. Goodwin said, "Throughout the process, Dr. Gardner was courteous and professional and took enough time to answer all our questions. We were treated like family from beginning to end and could not have asked for better care."”

We had another great experience in Dr. Phil Gardner’s office. Regina greeted us warmly and helped us again at the end of my appointment. We did not have to wait long for the ultrasound. Lai met me in the waiting room and escorted me back to the ultrasound room, where she explained everything that would happen. She talked with me the whole time to ensure I was not anxious and felt steady while she did the ultrasound exam. As she walked me back to the waiting room, I felt like I had made a new friend. Regina then escorted me and my wife to the exam room and made sure we were situated before she began the preliminary questions. Then Lindsey came in, smiling and friendly as always. She spoke to both of us, not just me, and explained that she would review the ultrasound results with us while waiting for Dr. Gardner. She was very positive and encouraging and said Dr. Gardner was doing his best to see us even though he was on a case.

Then, Dr. Gardner came in and began an exam of my physical leg condition. He sat and discussed the ultrasound results for each leg in detail. He gave us treatment recommendations but left the decision up to us. We settled on EVLT, a non-invasive approach, with a follow-up in 6 months. Dr. Gardner was very reassuring, and knowing there were no blood clots put us in a much better position.

EVLT (Endovenous laser treatment) is a minimally invasive procedure to treat venous insufficiency or reflux. EVLT closes the diseased vein and redirects blood to healthy veins to decrease symptoms. Venous insufficiency occurs when the veins leak and become engorged and enlarged. Individuals with this condition can experience leg swelling, aching, fatigue, heaviness, cramping, pins and needles, discoloration, flaking, itching, and ulcerations.

The EVLT procedure on November 1st went well. April and Susan assisted Dr. Gardner. They were both very courteous and professional. They made sure I was comfortable and stable after taking medication to reduce any anxiety before the procedure began. Dr. Gardner explained what he was doing as he went along and ensured my pain was tolerable throughout the process. I was given detailed post-procedure instructions, which were explained to confirm my understanding. I was also given a phone contact if I had any questions or concerns.

I have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience. Throughout the process, Dr. Gardner was courteous and professional and took enough time to answer all our questions. We were treated like family from beginning to end and could not have asked for better care. Thank you for your concern and care for the excellent quality of our experience.
