DAISY Award – for Nurses

Diseases Attacking the Immune System

The DAISY Award was established by The DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this international award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
PETALS Award – for Team Members

Performing Extraordinary Tasks & Always Lending Support

The PETALS Award was established by the nursing leadership at University Medical Center to recognize staff members who Perform Exceptional Tasks and Always Lend Support. Born from a desire to show appreciation for the exceptional professionals who help make outstanding patient care possible, this award highlights individuals who consistently go above and beyond their regular duties.
STEM Award – for Providers

Service Teamwork Excellence Mentorship

The STEM Award was established by leadership at University Medical Center to recognize providers who demonstrate Service, Teamwork, Excellence, and Mentorship. Created to honor those who consistently go beyond expectations, this award celebrates providers whose compassion, collaboration, and clinical excellence make an extraordinary impact on our patients, colleagues, and community.
