Madeline Browning Named CFO for West Jefferson Medical Center

West Jefferson Medical Center (WJMC) announces it has named Madeline Browning as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Browning, a certified public accountant, has been West Jefferson’s Controller since March 2010 and with the Medical Center since 2006.

A native of Lafourche Parish and a longtime resident of the West Bank, Browning has many years of experience in healthcare finance including an extensive background in revenue cycle management. Ms. Browning has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Nicholls State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She is a member of the Healthcare Finance Managers Association.

“West Jefferson Medical Center is very fortunate to have Mrs. Browning join our Executive Team as our Chief Financial Officer effective July 1,” Nancy Cassagne, WJMC Chief Executive Officer, said. “Mrs. Browning brings a history of excellent work as the West Jefferson controller, a fervent dedication to West Jefferson Medical Center and our community, and solid financial acumen to her new role as CFO.”

As controller and a member of the senior leadership staff at WJMC, Browning has supervised accounting at West Jefferson and provided in‐depth financial reporting to the West Jefferson Administration and Board. Browning’s responsibilities include payroll, accounts payable, and treasury and budgeting functions. She also oversees several WJMC departments including Bio‐Med, Central Sterilization, Cart Supply, and Materials Management.

Browning’s community leadership and service includes many years as treasurer for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of the West Bank, volunteering for the Hospital Foundation’s annual West Jeff Family Festival and leadership roles for other charitable causes of the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation to support the Cancer Center at West Jefferson, the Care House for families in Critical Care, and scales initiative for patients with heart failure.
