About Dr. Sanina

I joined the section of Cardiology as Director of Structural Heart Disease Interventions at Tulane University, School of Medicine as the Director of Interventional and Structural Heart Disease Research, and Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program. I see patients within the LCMC Health system at University Medical Center, New Orleans for heart care conditions.

I earned my medical degree from Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Moldova and completed a cardiology residency at the A.N. Bakulev Center for Cardiovascular Surgery in Moscow, Russia. I then pursued a post-doctoral degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, focusing on mesenchymal stem cell research for cardiac regeneration.

I completed my Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine–Montefiore Medical Center, followed by an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. I further advanced my training with an Advanced Structural Heart Disease Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

I am board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. I have authored numerous articles in leading peer-reviewed journals, as well as eleven book chapters and two textbooks.
