Lakeview Regional to host community health and wellness fair

Focus on falls prevention

What:

Lakeview Hospital , a campus of Tulane Medical Center, will host a falls prevention fair for residents of the St. Tammany Parish community. In addition to fall prevention tips, the community health and wellness event will provide on home and fire safety, how to get out quickly without falling, the safe use of medications and side effects, signs of stroke, and healthy nutrition information.

Attendees will also learn how to prepare in the event a fall occurs and EMS needs to the home and medication list. As it is the height of hurricane season, the team will share how to prepare and evacuate safely in case of hurricane heads towards South Louisiana. Balance screenings and vision screenings will also take place on site during the fair.

For individuals interested in volunteer opportunities, representatives from the Lakeview Regional Volunteer Auxiliary will be on hand to provide more information
