Our approach
Compassionate, Credible Support
Ourdedicated and trained Violence Prevention Professionals work directly
with survivors of gun violence to support a safe and healthy community.
We believe that when people feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore
their strengths, they can chart a path toward a safer, secure future for themselves and their families.
Care from crisis through recovery
- Violence Interrupters (Hospital-Based): Support survivors and loved ones at the bedside, helping them navigate the immediate crisis and develop a plan to stay safe moving forward.
- Violence Intervention Specialists (Clinic-Based): Based within the Trauma Recovery Center, these specialists work with survivorsthrough case management and wraparound services to develop and achive goals towards full recovery, stability and long-term wellbeing.
- Integrated trauma recovery: Healing after violence includes the body and the mind.The Vioence and Interevention Program is embedded within the Seeds of NOLA Trauma Recovery Center ensuring easy access and coordination with the trauma mental health experts to helpr promote the emotional. We work coordinate visits visits within the Trauma Recovery Center and maintain ongoing traum informed practices.

Healing after violence is deeply physical and emotional. VIP is embedded within the Seeds of NOLA Trauma Recovery Center, where survivors can access:
- Trauma focused mental health
- Wraparound support services
- Coordinated, trauma-informed practices across all staff interactions
Our goal is to make coping with the emotional impact of violence as manageable as possible.

The violence Intervention Program works cloesely with additonal hospital departments and organizations throughout New Orleans to ensure smooth referrals to services that support healing, stability, and safety.

Eligibility and cost
Survivors are eligible for free Violence Intervention Services if they:
- Have sustained a gunshot wound in Orleans Parish, or
- Live in Orleans Parish and have sustained a gunshot wound
