Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Specialized Therapy Programs

specifically for one-of-a-kind you. We are conveniently located in Metairie
but serve residents all over New Orleans metro area, including the North
Shore, Jefferson Parish, and the surrounding River Parishes. We know life
can be hectic so we offer appointments around your schedule.
Orthopedic procedures at East Jefferson General Hospital have earned numerous honors including being named a Blue Cross-Blue Shield Center of Excellence in Orthopedic Care. Our Total Joint Replacement Program includes pre-surgery classes and post-surgical rehab. Pre-surgery classes educate patients on how to maximize the results of their surgery and post-surgical rehab ensures the most complete recovery possible. Our rehabilitation services include a temporary membership to our Wellness Center which includes state-of-the-art fitness equipment and individualized fitness programs.
Inpatient rehabilitation
Our inpatient rehabilitation facility includes 24 private bedrooms for patients recovering from illness and injury. Our tailored treatment plans provide at least three hours of therapy a day, five days a week. Our program has been accredited since 1991 by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and received the Stroke Specialty Program accreditation in 2018. East Jefferson General Hospital has been recognized as an ANCC Magnet Hospital, the 1st in Louisiana, and is a Comprehensive Stroke Center accredited by the Joint Commission. Our rehab team offers you and your family personalized care to help you maximize your independence and reach your goals.
Our little something extra
In addition to our 7,700 square foot gym our patients receive therapy in a familiar setting known as Independence Lane. Independence Lane is our specialized treatment area that replicates a home-like setting and includes a bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, outdoor area, raised porch with steps and ramp, and a full-sized car. It provides a safe, realistic environment to prepare patients to return home safely. This specialty care area is our way of doing a little something extra to offer the best experience and care for our patients.
