Averaging nearly a thousand births per year, our physicians are uniquely qualified to see you, and your baby, through every aspect of your pregnancy and birth. Perhaps the greatest compliment our physicians can receive is the number of women who return to our practice for care in delivering their second, third and even fourth child.

- Exceptional care with mother and child in mind.
High Risk OB
Each of our ob/gyn specialist physicians are trained in high-risk obstetric care. Many of our high-risk ob patients self-refer to our ob/gyn physicians, and other patients are referred by family practice physicians, or other mid-level providers.
Perinatology Services
East Jefferson Women's Health provides perinatology services for patients who need more extensive ultrasound services.
Amniocentesis
During your pregnancy you may require amniocentesis, to detect potential risks or abnormalities with your pregnancy. If you choose to have this procedure performed, one of our specially trained physicians will perform the procedure. Our goal is to provide you the highest level of information regarding the progress of your pregnancy.
What is the “First OB” Visit?
Your initial OB visit will consist of a comprehensive exam designed to determine your state of health entering pregnancy. The exam will include lab work, as well as thorough education on a variety of pregnancy issues.
Laboratory Tests
Following your First OB exam, other lab tests may be done throughout your pregnancy to verify that you and your baby are healthy. Some of these tests include urinalysis, hemoglobin blood test, glucose tolerance test, and one or more ultrasound scans.
Prenatal Visits
Generally, after your First OB exam, you will be asked to follow up with your health care provider on a monthly basis, up until your eighth month. At this time, visits are recommended on a weekly basis. This schedule is a guideline and your health care provider may ask to see you more often, or less often, depending on your and your baby’s health status.
