About this location
Our Tulane Comprehensive Geriatric Clinic welcomes new patients as well as patients who need follow-up care after a hospital stay. We take time to understand the whole person—not just one illness or symptom. Our board-certified geriatric physicians work with the patient’s primary care physician and other providers to address concerns related to aging and complex care.
What Matters
We ask what is most important to the patient. This helps us create a care plan that supports their goals, values, quality of life, and personal preferences.
Medication
We review all medications to make sure they are still needed, working as intended, and not causing harmful side effects or interactions.
Mentation
We look for changes in memory, thinking, mood, and behavior, including concerns related to confusion, dementia, depression, or delirium.
Mobility
We help patients move safely, maintain strength and independence, and reduce their risk of falls.
Care Centered on You
Health care can feel overwhelming, especially when several doctors, medications, and care settings are involved. Our geriatric consult and clinic services provide an added layer of support, helping connect care across the hospital, outpatient clinic, and other care settings.
We work with patients, families, caregivers, primary care physicians, specialists, and hospital care teams to bring the different parts of the patient’s care together. Our goal is to make care plans easier to understand, support safer transitions after a hospital stay, and help everyone involved stay informed.
Every older adult has different needs and priorities. By looking at the whole person and focusing on what matters most to them, we help patients and their families feel supported as they make decisions and move throughout their care journey.
