Orthopedic Care

There’s only one you, so let’s make you your best version yet.

Every year, roughly half a million Americans decide to undergo joint replacement surgery to treat their chronic pain. Though surgery may not completely cure your pain and may not be possible if you have multiple medical conditions, it can be an excellent way to improve your mobility and quality of life.

We are recognized as a Blue Distinction Centers-Plus for Knee and Hip Replacement, providing comprehensive inpatient knee and hip replacement services, including total knee replacement and total hip replacement surgeries. The orthopedic team at East Jefferson General Hospital features surgeons, therapists, nurses, and professionals who are all dedicated to providing the very best care to every patient, every time.

You may want to consider joint replacement surgery if you:

  • Have been seriously impacted by severe joint pain or stiffness
  • Are in good health other than your joint pain
  • Can commit to maintaining a rehabilitative regimen
  • Are seeking improved comfort and function rather than a complete cure

EJGH is proud to participate in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMs)’s Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) Model.

Hip and knee replacements are common inpatient and outpatient surgeries for Medicare beneficiaries and can require lengthy recovery and rehabilitation periods.

The Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model aims to improve the care experience for the many and growing numbers of Medicare beneficiaries who receive joint replacements, making the patient’s successful surgery and recovery a top priority for the health care system.

Patients can benefit from their hospitals and other health care providers (e.g., physicians, home health agencies, and nursing facilities) working together more closely to coordinate their care. Coordination of care leads to better outcomes, a better experience, and fewer complications, such as preventable readmissions, infections, or prolonged rehabilitation and recovery.

The following list includes health care providers that have established a sharing agreement with East Jefferson General Hospital in order to share in financial rewards and/or losses in the CJR model:
