There are many reasons why men become
incontinent or have the inability to control their bladder. One such reason is the
urinary sphincter, a muscle that controls the flow of urine and can be
impacted due to stress. Now, there is a method of significantly improving
stress-induced
incontinence, and our team can help by providing you with more information on the artificial
urinary sphincter (AUS).
How it works
There are three components to the implant device:
a fluid-filled cuff that wraps around your urethra to keep fluid from leaking
out until you need to urinate
a pump in your scrotum
a balloon in the abdomen
The pump is used to inflate or deflate the balloon, which helps complete
urination.
Procedure
Though minimally invasive and done through outpatient surgery, AUS may
require other medical workups. Your doctor may order:
Blood work
A visit with your primary care provider to ensure you are in optimal health
Most studies show that patient satisfaction for AUS is above 90 percent.

sphincter, our team is ready to help.
