• Be a Santa to a Senior adopts senior citizens in nursing homes, assisted livings, and hospices around the Greater New Orleans area and provides them with holiday gifts on their wishlist.

Tulane Cancer Center Wave Makers 5K & Swell Kids Run

• Thank you for joining us for the inaugural Tulane Cancer Center Wave Makers 5K & The Swell Kids 1/2 Mile Run on Saturday, December 6, in Audubon Park. Every step was more than just distance covered — it was a stride toward awareness, compassion, and a cure.

LOPA Tree of Life

• Join us on December 11 at 11 am for a celebration of our donor heroes at East Jefferson General Hospital on the 2nd Floor.

The Holiday Gift and Toy Drive supporting the St. Tammany Project Christmas

• Hundreds of toys, gift cards, and senior gifts were donated to St. Tammany Project Christmas thanks to the incredible generosity of our Lakeview team. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making the holidays brighter for children and seniors in our community.

Santa Breakfast

• Lakeview Hospital and the Youth Service Bureau welcomed the community to the annual Santa Breakfast on Saturday, December 6!

Be a Santa to a Senior

• Be a Santa to a Senior is a program that allows employees to "adopt" a senior citizen and to fulfill their wishlist items. The Energy Centre and Westpark teams provided gifts for more than 160 seniors in the community this year!

November Food Drive

• The hospital held a food drive to support their food pantry in the month of November. Thank you for giving a little something to help support those in need this holiday season! See more.

Light up the Season

• On December 3, the Delta Festival Ballet performed before one of our patients flipped the switch on the hospital’s holiday lights. Local first responders also attended to add their unit lights to the celebration. Patients inside the hospital were invited to watch the ceremony from the Child Life multipurpose space.

Light up the Season Radiothon

• Thank you for tuning in to the Light Up The Season Radiothon, where listeners heard from our patients, providers, specialists, and more live on the air! From December 3–5, WWL, B97, Magic 101.9, and Bayou 105.7 broadcasted live from the Main Concourse.

Holiday Parade

• Our family-centered Holiday Parade returned this year, and it was even bigger and better than before! The parade took place on December 6, starting from The French Market with an extended route through Downtown.

Toy Drive

• We're transforming our hospital conference room into a cheerful “toy store” for our annual Candy Cane Clinic. During this special event, parents of our patients can “shop” donated toys and select the perfect gift for their child and their siblings. Shop the Amazon wishlists, or see recommended donation items and details to drop off gifts in person!

Turkey giveaway

• New Orleans East Hospital (NOEH) hosted a turkey giveaway on November 15, where turkeys were given to twenty raffle winners who attended their Night Out at NOEH event. The hospital also hosted its monthly Farmer’s Market on November 19. Community members were encouraged to come shop local, healthy produce to go along with their Thanksgiving meals.

Blood Drive

• The Blood Center hosted a Blood Drive at NOEH on Friday, December 5 from 10 am–2 pm.

Blanket Drive

• Join us in making a difference this winter by donating new or gently used blankets. We are gathering these essential items to support a local cause dedicated to helping others. The deadline for all donations is December 16. Please drop off blankets in Human Resources.

Jingle on the Boulevard

• New Orleans East Hospital is excited to support the 7th annual Jingle on the Boulevard parade in New Orleans East on Saturday, December 20 at noon. After the parade, community members are invited to bring their children for photos with Santa in the hospital lobby from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. NOEH also hosted a holiday craft fair in their lobby on December 5, from 10 am to 2 pm, where all were welcome to shop local for the holidays.

Holiday Toy Drive

• Touro is partnering with Ozanam Inn for a toy drive from December 1-10 to collect new toys, clothes, and books for newborns and kids up to 14 years old. See details.

Thanksgiving giveaway

• The University Medical Center Cancer Center hosted a Thanksgiving turkey and meal kit giveaway for their cancer patients.

Salvation Army Angel Tree

• The Angel Tree program provides Christmas gifts to children in need by pairing them with anonymous donors. The program aims to ensure that children who might not otherwise receive gifts have a happy Christmas. UMC employees adopted 60 kids this year!

Food drive benefiting Gladewaves

• West Jefferson Medical Center's Gladewaves donation drive is Nocember 10- December 10.
• Donation boxes are located in clinics and at entrances to the hospital and cafeteria for people to drop off nonperishable food items. Gladewaves was formed to give direct aid to people who need it. This nonprofit works to bring resources to the Greater New Orleans area that are both useful and needed.

Caroling at Woldenberg Village

• Team members from West Jefferson Medical Center are visiting Woldenberg Village to sing carols with seniors on December 18 at 4:30 pm.
