A. Domnica Fotino, MD

About Dr. Fotino

I am an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Tulane University. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Smith College in Northampton, MA, where I majored in Political Science, minored in Italian Language and Literature, and completed a concentration in Music History. I went on to attend medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane University Health Sciences Center. I also hold a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the Tulane School of Public Health.

At University Medical Center, I work as an attending physician in both the hospitalist service and the ambulatory care clinic, and I also maintain a private integrative medicine practice. I serve as Director for the Integrative Medicine elective for first- and second-year medical students. My current research focuses on the role of nutritional interventions in treating pulmonary tuberculosis, particularly among indigenous populations in Lima, Peru.

I have had the opportunity to work internationally with Doctors for Global Health in Chiapas, Mexico, as well as in Haiti and Romania. Closer to home, I volunteer as a faculty supervisor at student-run clinics including Ozanam Inn Outreach Clinic and Luke’s House Clinic. My professional interests include teaching, nutrition, and integrative medicine.
