About Dr. Colfry, III

I specialize in Breast Surgical Oncology. I became a healthcare provider because of the unique relationship I develop with my patients. Seeing people at their weakest moments, I always take the opportunity to comfort and assure them. My patients can count on me to provide extraordinary care because I want my patients to know I’m in their corner and will guide them through this journey.

I specialize in surgical treatment for breast cancer including lumpectomy, mastectomy, breast conversation techniques, and oncoplastic surgery. During my fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer in Houston, I mastered innovated surgical techniques such as radioactive seed localized lumpectomy. I also manage benign breast disease as well as high-risk breast cancer patients. I’ve authored multiple publications on breast cancer – most recently contributing to a textbook on Ductal Carcinoma in Situ.

My little something extra

In my free time, you’ll find me listening to live jazz music, playing tennis, fly fishing, and exploring New Orleans with my wife Alysha, daughter Isabel and son John.

Yes, it was my first time meeting Dr. Colfry Iii, and I thought he was an excellent doctor. He took the time to introduce himself to me. He was familiar with my records before he walked in the room. I appreciate that, without having to explain everything. He seemed to know very much his knowledge about the subject and was able to make me feel comfortable and secure that my healthcare was being provided for. And I felt great after I met with him. So he made me feel at ease. He was very pleasant and very approachable. And I appreciate him and all his staff for everything that they've done. Thank you.

I had to wait 10 minutes before the receptionist greeted me. The atmosphere was not warm and friendly, especially at such an emotionally vulnerable time

I very much appreciated the responsiveness this provider and team provides in addition to the active listening and genuine empathy support on top of demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the type of care. Thank you.

Dr. Colfry is the best health care provider I've ever experienced. He's very knowledgeable, very helpful, and very nice. I actually enjoy seeing him every year, even though it's for a difficult matter due to my family history of breast cancer. But I always enjoy setting my appointment at the time of year to check in, just not with my health, but him as a person. And he remembers things about me as a person, and I really appreciate it. Love everything about Dr. Colfry.
