About Allison
I am a clinical psychologist, associate professor, and chief of the Psychology Division in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Tulane University School of Medicine. I co-developed the TIKES infant and early childhood mental health consultation (IECMHC) model and currently serve as the Executive Director of Tulane Mental Health Consultation Services (T-MHCS) and director of the statewide TIKES program, which has supported Louisiana early care and education sites since 2007.
My work focuses on improving outcomes for young children by supporting the caregivers who nurture them. I have published peer-reviewed articles on IECMHC, regularly contribute to the National Center of Excellence for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation, and am a founding member of the RAINE group, which advances the field through practice, policy, and research.
I’ve also been honored to serve on the Louisiana Early Childhood Commission, appointed by two governors, where I help shape recommendations for the state legislature. My research centers on understanding how IECMHC works and discovering the best ways to support early childhood caregivers.
