Anand M. Irimpen, MD

About Dr. Irimpen

I joined the Tulane University Heart and Vascular Institute in 1992 as a General Cardiology Fellow before completing an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. I currently serve as an Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship.

I earned my medical degree at Grant Medical College at Bombay University in Bombay, India, and completed further training through an internship in the Department of Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a residency in the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo.

In addition to my clinical work, I am actively engaged in research. One of my recent projects examined the effects of Hurricane Katrina on acute myocardial infarction among New Orleanians impacted by the storm. This study was awarded first place at the American College of Cardiology conference for the state of Louisiana.
