About Dr. Matheney

Dr. Robert Matheney serves as Chief of Staff. He earned his medical degree from University of Arkansas. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Tulane University and a cardiovascular fellowship with the Tulane University School of Medicine. He is board-certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Matheney has been active in the development of our peripheral vascular disease clinic. His specialties include interventional cardiology and peripheral percutaneous interventions, including coronary and renal angiography, angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, lower extremity angioplasty, placement of permanent pacemakers and cardiac defibrillators.

Recognized by his peers for his expertise in clinical cardiology, he is active in both the state and local chapters of the American Heart Association. He also is active in educating students and residents at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation.

She was nice, respectful. I was very relaxed with him. I was explaining to him about myself. He understood. He showed me and talked to me about the heart, showed me the heart and the valves in the heart and things that goes on. And he even gave me some exercise that I can do to help myself. He was a really good doctor. I would love to see him again and tell people about him because the place was really nice. The helpers, the nurses, they was really nice. The receptionist was really nice and I really enjoyed myself at the doctor's office. He was a really good doctor. Thank you.
