About Dr. Burke
I entered medicine to care for people in my hometown of New Orleans. As a New Orleans native, I graduated from LSU School of Medicine in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, where I was deeply inspired by the dedication of the LSU faculty who taught me during that time. After completing my graduate medical training, I returned home in 2014 to join the LSU Infectious Diseases Section. I chose to specialize in infectious diseases because of my passion for solving medical mysteries and addressing emerging infections. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as the LSU Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program Director and core faculty for the preclinical medical student curriculum. My greatest passions in healthcare are serving my local community and teaching the next generation of physicians who will care for us in the years to come.
My little something extra
I love music and played tuba in the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland while in college.
