LCMC Health is supporting Second Harvest Food Bank’s vital efforts to address food insecurity in Greater New Orleans.
Caring for people is at the heart of what we do every day. We're hosting a systemwide holiday food drive to help address the significant food shortages impacting many families across Louisiana. One in six households in our state is at risk of hunger, and together, we can make a meaningful difference.
Second Harvest Food Bank leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana — providing food and support to more than 500 community partners and programs across 23 parishes, and distributing the equivalent of more than 38 million meals a year.
Across our state and region, the rising cost of food, housing, and utilities, coupled with high unemployment, low-wage jobs, and the recent government shutdown have increased the need for emergency food assistance.
Ways to give back:

Many families are asking for help for the first time. When bills loom and impossible decisions must be made, grocery lists are often cut first. Meals are skipped. Parents go without to make sure their children are fed.
