UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER NEW ORLEANS LAUNCHES FIRST RESPONDER CLINIC

NEW ORLEANS – University Medical Center (UMC) New Orleans is proud to announce the launch of a new program, specifically designed to support our first responders by providing them specialized, expedited care. This initiative is dedicated to prioritizing care for members of the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD), New Orleans Emergency Medical Services (NOEMS), Orleans Parish Communication District (OPCD) and Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office (OPSO).

“Our first responders are the backbone of public safety and emergency response in our city. It’s our civic duty to ensure they have access to the care they need, when they need it,” said Charlotte Parent, Vice President of Business Development at UMC. “This clinic is a reflection of our deep commitment to those who dedicate their lives to protecting our community.”

The First Responder Clinic will be housed at UMC’s Primary Care Building at 2003 Tulane Ave., New Orleans, LA. The main goal of the program is to prioritize and streamline access to services for first responders, ensuring they receive the attention they need promptly.

“The New Orleans Fire Department is pleased that University Medical Center New Orleans is providing this innovative First Responder Clinic for the care of the men and women, our First Responders in New Orleans and the surrounding area,” said NOFD Superintendent Roman Nelson. “Thank you for your unwavering dedication and support of our brave First Responders. We look forward to the opening of the clinic and the numerous services that will be available.”

To ensure a smooth launch, UMC will align physician schedules and identify dedicated time slots for first responders, guaranteeing quick access to care when needed. First responders will have the flexibility to schedule appointments up to seven days in advance with dedicated time slots for first responders.

The First Responder Clinic will offer a wide range of services, including:
