About Dr. Al-Hariri
I am an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in the full spectrum of eyelid, orbital, and lacrimal surgery, including functional, reconstructive, and cosmetic procedures. I completed my medical degree at the American University of Beirut, followed by an internship in Internal Medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland. I then completed my ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and the Ochsner Clinic Foundation, followed by fellowships in ocular and orbital oncology at the Hamilton Eye Institute and Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and ophthalmic plastic, orbital, and reconstructive surgery at the University of Cincinnati Eye Institute and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
During my training, I had the privilege of working with leaders in the field and gained additional experience as an ophthalmic and facial trauma surgeon in the military. I have received the International Fellowship Award from the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Achievement Medal from the US Army. After serving as an academic staff surgeon at Ochsner Medical Center, I co-founded Eyelid & Facial Consultants in New Orleans to provide specialized care for patients requiring advanced oculoplastic services.
I am passionate about teaching and mentoring residents, and I continue to work with LSU ophthalmology residents on clinical and research projects. I enjoy treating complex cases that challenge my expertise and allow me to combine precision, function, and aesthetics in my surgical approach. Collaboration with colleagues across specialties—including ENT, neurosurgery, dermatologic surgery, and others—is central to my practice.
My little something extra
I’m originally from Lebanon, and my family and I have made New Orleans our home. We love the city’s culture, food, and Mardi Gras celebrations, and our two boys are already little foodies who embrace everything NOLA has to offer!
