About Dr. Dawson, III

I’m Dr. Robert C. Dawson III, a Louisiana native from Morganza in Pointe Coupee Parish, and I specialize in interventional neuroradiology—a field that uses advanced imaging and minimally invasive catheter techniques to treat neurological conditions. My work focuses on treating stroke, intracranial aneurysms, and vascular malformations of the brain and spinal cord. By using microcatheterization, I’m able to reduce trauma, speed up recovery, and often treat conditions that were once considered inoperable.

I’m board certified in Diagnostic Radiology, Neuroradiology, and Vascular/Interventional Radiology. Over the years, my expertise has taken me around the world. I’ve traveled extensively to lecture and perform procedures—most notably in China, where I operated and taught in cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Jinan, and Nantong. Despite language barriers, I’ve been able to collaborate with global colleagues through interpreters and shared medical passion.

In addition to stroke and aneurysms, I treat patients with migraines, seizures, memory disorders, and neuromuscular conditions. I’m passionate about bringing the most advanced, least invasive treatment options to my patients here in Louisiana.

My little something extra

Outside of medicine, I’m a lifelong sportsman. I grew up fishing the bayous and lakes of South Louisiana, and I still enjoy time on the water—though I tend to keep my favorite fishing spots a secret. (Let’s just say I’ve been spotted at Cypress Cove Marina in Venice.)
