About Dr. Zhang

I specialize in glaucoma because I am deeply passionate about saving and preserving vision across all ages. I chose eye care because of the unique privilege it offers—to protect and restore sight. Vision is a sense intimately connected to independence, human connection, and overall quality of life. Vision loss can profoundly impact a person’s world, and I wanted to be part of a field that prevents this loss, treats eye
diseases, and makes a meaningful difference in people’s daily lives. Glaucoma, in particular, captured my focus because it is a complex, challenging disease that often progresses silently—without noticeable symptoms—until significant vision loss occurs. My fellowship training equipped me with advanced surgical skills, diagnostic expertise, and the tools needed to detect glaucoma early, slow its progression, and preserve vision for as long as possible. Helping patients manage this lifelong condition with skill, compassion, and hope is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice. As a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in glaucoma, I combine specialized  expertise with a strong commitment to personalized, compassionate care. I ensure every patient receives the most effective, evidence based treatments tailored to their unique needs to protect and preserve their vision.

I’m proud to call New Orleans my home. After graduating from Ben Franklin High School and completing both college and medical school, I made the conscious decision to return to my city and serve our community. I am deeply passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate eye care to every patient I meet. My goal is to ensure that everyone has access to the expertise, treatment, and support they need to protect and preserve their vision.
