Neurological Rehabilitation Center (NRC)
The Neuro Rehabilitation Center at Touro specializes in the treatment of patients with conditions involving the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, or other neurological injury or illness. The Neuro Rehabilitation Center team focuses on returning the patient to the highest level of function possible while emphasizing strengths and accommodating unique needs using a community integrative approach. Big and Loud (LSVT) services at NRC
Touro’s Outpatient Big and Loud (LSVT) service within the NRC program is a helpful tool to assist in treating patients with Parkinsons disease. In the “Big” portion of the program, patients participate in physical and occupational therapy to address movement impairments through specific exercises and functional activities. The “Loud” portion of the program involves patients participating in speech therapy treatments aimed at increasing the patient’s speaking volume through the use of specific techniques and equipment.
