Visitor Information

Visit Our Hospital in New Orleans

Welcome to Touro! Family members and friends are welcome to visit loved ones in the hospital and accompany them to appointments. However, patient safety is our top priority, and we ask all patients and visitors to adhere to the below guidelines to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Visiting hours:

  • Touro’s main visiting hours: 8 am-8:30 pm daily
  • ICU visiting hours: 8 am-6 pm daily
  • Family Birthing Center visiting hours:
    • Labor & Delivery: 24 hours except for 6:45-7:45 am & 6:45-7:45 pm
    • Postpartum: 8:30 am-8:30 pm
    • NICU: 24 hours except for 7-7:30 am 7-7:30 pm.
    • Photo I.D. required for all Family Birthing Center visitors
  • Inpatient Rehab visiting hours:
    • Monday-Friday 4 pm-8:30 pm
    • Saturday Noon-8:30 pm
    • Sunday 10:30 am-8:30 pm

Overnight visitation is permitted on select units, allowing one overnight visitor per patient. Children visiting must be accompanied by an adult at all times and are not permitted in the Critical Care Units.

Directions

Directions to Touro from the Northshore/Causeway:

  1. Take the ramp onto I-10 EAST toward New Orleans (5.4 miles)
  2. Make a slight left at US-90 West toward Westbank/Superdome/Clairborne Ave. (1.4 miles)
  3. Take the St. Charles Ave. Exit; take your first possible right onto St. Charles.(.3 miles)
  4. Continue down St. Charles Ave. past Jackson and Washington intersections (1.6 miles)
  5. Once on St. Charles Avenue, there are several options for arriving at Touro Infirmary and parking including:

From the West Bank:

  1. Take the West Bank Expressway (US 90) East toward Baton Rouge
  2. Take the Howard Ave. Exit to O'Keefe Ave. (.2 miles); take the right fork to Howard Ave.
  3. Make a slight right at Howard Ave. (.2 miles)
  4. At Lee Circle, go one quarter turn and take first exit onto St. Charles Ave. (1.7 miles)
  5. Continue down St. Charles Ave. past Jackson and Washington intersections (1.6 miles)
  6. Once on St. Charles Avenue, there are several options for arriving at Touro Infirmary and parking including:

Parking

Parking validation is available for patients coming to Touro for a procedure. Please bring your parking ticket with you to Patient Registration on the 3rd floor of the main hospital for validation at the time of registration. Visitor parking may be validated on a case-by-case basis at Touro’s discretion.

You may park in either of our convenient garages:

  • Buckman Garage on Delachaise Street, across from the Emergency Department
  • Prytania Street Garage, directly across from the main hospital

Both garages connect to the hospital by third-floor walkways for easy access. Lost tickets for both patients and visitors will incur the full $12 parking fee upon exit.

Cafeteria

Café Touro is here for the convenience of our visitors, patients, and staff. It is open seven days a week for breakfast (6:30-9:30 am) and lunch (11 am-2 pm) and dinner (5-7 pm).

  1. Take the main passenger elevator to the 3rd floor.
  2. Exit the elevator and take a right.

Family Birthing Center:

Located on the 1st floor of the main hospital

  1. Walk through the lobby and take a right down the main hallway.
  2. Radiation Oncology will be a few feet down the hallway on the left.

From the Foucher Street Entrance:

  1. Walk through the lobby and take the first left down the main hallway (near the Information Desk).
  2. Continue down the hallway and make a left, Radiation Oncology will be on the left.

Touro Infusion Center (Chemotherapy)

From the Prytania Street Entrance:

  1. Walk through the lobby and take a right down the main hallway.
  2. Continue down the hallway and make a left down the hallway after passing the Radiation Oncology department.
  3. Continue walking down this hallway and turn right at the Information Desk. The Touro Infusion Center will be on the right across from the Gift Shop.

From the Foucher Street Entrance:

  1. Walk through the lobby and the Touro Infusion Center is on the left.
