LCMC Health Pipeline Program (HPP)

LCMC Health is dedicated to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals who exemplify our mission: delivering extraordinary care with heart and soul. The LCMC Health Pipeline Program (HPP) is an education-to-employment pathway that provides forgivable financial assistance to students pursuing education in selected healthcare fields in exchange for a subsequent work commitment within the LCMC Health organization. As an HPP scholar, you become part of a community of caregivers who strive to make a meaningful impact across Louisiana and beyond.

Community Impact

The LCMC Health HPP Program is designed to support not only healthcare students but also workforce development efforts in Louisiana. By investing in healthcare education, LCMC Health ensures a sustainable pipeline of skilled, compassionate caregivers are here for all your health and wellness needs.

Key Community Impact Highlights:

  • Addressing Workforce Shortages: The HPP program helps ensure our patients have the caregivers they need to support their health and wellbeing.
  • Supporting Local Talent: By prioritizing students from Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region, the HPP program fosters opportunities for students to pursue healthcare education close to home, and to remain in the community after graduation.
  • Strengthening Community Partnerships: Through academic partnerships with colleges, schools and universities, the HPP program is a collaborative initiative that brings healthcare organizations and educational institutions together to address workforce needs.
  • Long-Term Impact: Graduates of the program become leaders and advocates for health in their communities, contributing to improved health outcomes and a stronger, more resilient healthcare system.

Program Benefits

  • Comprehensive Tuition Support: Scholars receive funding for tuition and eligible fees throughout their academic program. Coverage includes per-credit tuition costs and required fees as outlined in the academic catalog of the partner institution.
  • Forgivable Loan Structure: Up to 100% of tuition payments (including accrued interest) are forgiven upon completion of the required work commitment at an LCMC Health facility. If the commitment is not fulfilled, scholars are responsible for repayment.
  • Employment Match Program: Scholars are matched to an LCMC Health facility based on organizational needs and scholar preferences, most frequently within adult medical-surgical inpatient units. HPP Match Days are held several months before graduation.
  • Professional Development: Scholars benefit from access to exam preparation resources or stipends to support board and certification success.
  • Competitive Compensation and Benefits: Upon hire, scholars receive compensation and benefits commensurate with LCMC Health’s standard salary and benefits structure for the facility and position.
  • Flexibility and Mobility: After one year of full-time employment, scholars may request consideration for transfer to another LCMC Health facility for the remainder of their commitment.
  • Support for Success: LCMC Health is committed to helping scholars succeed academically and professionally, offering resources to overcome challenges and achieve licensure or certification.
