Course calendars and registration
All students registering for BLS, ACLS or PALS Online through Heartcode® must have current Provider certification from the American Heart Association. Completion of other courses (eg, Heartsaver or First Aid courses offered by the American Red Cross) are not accepted.
Please follow the instructions below for AHA Heartcode® completions.
Completion of the online component and the skills checkoff are both required for BLS certification. Please bring a printed copy of your completion certificate with you to your skills session.
Instructions:
- Step 1. Complete the HeartCode® BLS, ACLS, or PALS Online Portion (2025 Guidelines). The HeartCode® online portion may be purchased directly from the American Heart Association (AHA), or it may be issued through the Training Site. If purchased directly from the AHA, payment is made at the time of purchase. If you would like the Training Site to issue the HeartCode® provider course along with your skills checkoff, please contact Janis.Sita@lcmchealth.org for assistance.
- Step 2. Print your completion certificate to bring to class with you. If you would like to email your completion certificate as opposed to printing and bringing it the day of class, please email it to Janis.Sita@lcmchealth.org before your scheduled class time. The AHA Skills Checkoff is not allowed without the completion certificate.
- Step 3. Please select and schedule the AHA course date and time that best meets your needs from the available course dates listed below using this link (insert link). HeartCode® skills checkoff sessions typically take 1–1.5 hours, depending on the course. Renewal courses generally take 4–6 hours, while Initial Provider courses are full-day courses and may take up to 8-10 hours. Please plan accordingly when selecting your course. If you schedule a class and later cancel or do not attend, a $20 rescheduling fee will apply.
When scheduling your skills checkoff,
- Step 4. During the skills checkoff, you will practice and demonstrate required skills using manikins and case-based scenarios. Upon successful completion of all course requirements including the in-person skills session, the Training Site Coordinator will issue your electronic AHA Provider eCard. For HeartCode® courses, both the online component and the in-personskills checkoff must be successfully completed to receive course completion and certification.
