About Dr. Culicchia
I'm Dr. Frank Culicchia, a second-generation neurosurgeon carrying on the legacy of my father, Dr. Carl Culicchia, who founded Culicchia Neurological Clinic in 1961. I've dedicated my career to advancing neurological care and am honored to be recognized as one of the nation's top neurosurgeons by U.S News and World Report and as a Top Doctor by New Orleans Magazine in 2020. I currently lead the neurosurgery team at West Jefferson Medical Center, which ranks among the best in the country by Healthgrades.
In addition to patient care, I’m committed to medical education. I teach neurosurgery residents and collaborate with faculty at LSU’s Department of Neurosurgery, where I’ve also served as Residency Program Director—developing curriculum, leading conferences, and mentoring the next generation of neurosurgeons.
My specialties include stroke, brain tumors, aneurysms, and other complex vascular conditions.
