Sheryl B. Martin-Schild, MD

About Dr. Martin-Schild

Dr. Sheryl Martin-Schild is a native of the Greater New Orleans area and specializes in Neurology at both Touro and New Orleans East Hospital. She is medical director of the Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Centers at each facility. Dr. Martin-Schild completed her medical degree, PhD in neuroscience and both neurology and internal medicine residencies at Tulane University School of Medicine and her vascular neurology fellowship and clinical research training at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She is Stroke Medical Director for the Louisiana Emergency Response Network tasked with the design and implementation of our Statewide Stroke System of Care. Dr. Martin-Schild is passionate about providing each patient with the best chance of independence.
