The Transfer Center acts as the primary point of contact for coordinating transfers across all LCMC facilities. Through streamlined transfers and optimized resources, we positively impact lives by helping improve outcomes by ensuring uninterrupted access to care coordination 24/7.
The LCMC Health Transfer Center facilitates transfers for all eight LCMC Health adult facilities: East Jefferson General Hospital, Lakeside Hospital, Lakeview Hospital, New Orleans East Hospital, Touro, University Medical Center New Orleans, and West Jefferson Medical Center.
Manning Family Children’s Transfer Center can be reached by choosing option 4.
Transfer types

- Direct admits — Our Transfer Center is staffed 24/7 by experienced Registered Nurses ready to triage and assist with transfers to any LCMC Health facility.
Our team will:
- Connect with the referring physician
- Connect sending and accepting physicians by a recorded physician-to-physician call
- Confirm bed availability, obtain hospital approval, and notify receiving departments
- Assist in securing transportation
- Obtain and document necessary patient information
- Track transfer from time of call to patient arrival
- Provide immediate feedback to close the loop with all referring physicians and facilities
