Jaime J. Alleyn, MD

I’m an Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a passion for providing exceptional care, educating the next generation of physicians and helping advance women’s health. I was born in Miami, Florida, and am proud of my Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage.
 

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgetown University, where I was recognized as a Jesuit Scholar, before completing my medical training at Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane University School of Medicine in 2006. Following residency, I joined the Division of Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where I’ve continued to serve patients while contributing to medical education and departmental leadership.
 

Teaching has been an important part of my career from the beginning. In 2008, I became Clerkship Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, helping shape the educational experience of medical students pursuing careers in women’s health. In 2025, I was appointed Division Director for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology. In March 2026, I was honored to be named the Abe Mickal Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at LSU.
 

I believe education and clinical care go hand in hand. Throughout my career, I’ve worked to support faculty development, strengthen clinical services and create meaningful learning opportunities for future physicians. Most importantly, I’m committed to providing thoughtful, compassionate care that puts each patient at the center of their healthcare experience.
 

My little something extra: I’m actively involved with Hogs for the Cause, a New Orleans-based nonprofit that raises funds to support families of children battling pediatric brain cancer. I’m proud to help make a difference for families facing some of their most difficult moments.
